Well it's a big weekend for the Pokes as Misery coached by Annie Wilkes comes to town...I'm sure you'll hear their head coach say "Throw the cockadoody ball!"...OSU was shut out last week, somehow I don't see that happening...Will we score enough however??? Sure why not...24-20 OSU

Now there's some game in Dallas, Texas has a swagger about them and oklahoma is maybe getting better...Anyway, can Mack get the gorilla off of his back??? Can Vince run around the ou defense??? Can Rhett Bomar shake the nerves??? Will Adrian Peterson's ankle survive??? Maybe so but not enough for the six pack 38-20 Horns...

Hannah update...Yesterday she walked a couple of steps...They are still looking for a place to do the surgery but it's so risky...We can only hope they find a place and all goes well...

Someone always asked me, "What happened to your team?" Well here's the answer....We got beat because Colorado scored more points than we did...Now comes the part where you realize it's only a game...

My Mrs. has a co-worker who has a birth defect and only now at the young age of 21 is paralyzed on her left side...I could never explain all the details of what's wrong with her but suffice to say best case scenario involves braces and worse case scenario is a respirator...All this compounded by the fact her husband had an accident at work and lost part of his finger...

People always ask why do bad things happen to good people...I wish I knew...But a pastor I heard said God may not be fair but at least he's not just...If he were, then we'd all be needing sunblock and burn ointment...Anyway, until next time

Saturday ought to be real exciting in Stillwater as rain is in the forecast...As they say in NFL Films, "I'd like it 75 degrees and sunny too, but that's not football"...So we fans must brave the elements and cheer our team to victory...

Also, baseball season is winding down...Hopefully the Red Sox will overtake the Yankees and no evil empire in the playoffs...

Finally, an off week for my Steelers and a chance to recover from yet ANOTHER defeat to the Patriots...I'm really starting to despise Tom Brady...Oh what the heck, I despise Tom Brady...

Anyway, that's the sports report and we'll chat again soon...

I'm making my first post on my new laptop named "Scout"...This is fun, anyway, my OSU Cowboys are 2-0 but things are still murky as far as being a good football team goes...The offense is anemic at best but now that we have a Number 1 quarterback, maybe that will change...Can I just say Donovan Woods has moved a notch up in my book...He not only moves to defense but says he was the first to call Bobby Reid the starter to congratulate him...That's team loyalty...

Also, we may be camping out in Stillwater over the weekend...Good thing the Blair Witch is in Maryland...Church is going really well...Our class is awesome and the Christmas show is coming along...I'll have to lip sync some of the stuff being the "good" singer that I am...Anyway, this is also the debut of my new signature so with that I'll sign off and say...

My First Blog

As a married man...It's been overwhelming, all the events from the Bachelor Party to now...First of all, if I didn't mention it before, there were 16 people playing golf with us and I was touched by the number of people and knowing how many good friends I have...Now, for the wedding itself...There were over 100 people there, not sure of an exact number, but it was awesome...I recommend highly Jay Sampson to do your wedding...He makes it fun...Of course when Stephanie came out...OK I was a pool of mush...Darn it...But oh well, instead of the traditional, "You're Beautiful", I told her, "You're freaking glowing"...I couldn't get through my vows without losing it...But all went well and now here we are back from the honeymoon and almost getting lost in Tulsa as man and wife...Also, we saw Batman on IMAX...That was an experience and when the power went out and all there was was a picture, I proceeded to sing the Batman theme from the 60s...It got a big laugh...Anyway, this is my chance to say thank you to one and all for everything, especially the prayers...

My Last Blog

This is my last blog...As a single guy...Tomorrow I take the plunge into marital bliss and I just wish it would get here...Of course, now we're fighting with tux problems and family accomidations and a crisis with one of Stephanie's bridesmaids (Say a little prayer for her situation) Anyway, the rehearsal is tonight and Hideaway's Pizza for dinner tonight...Yumm Yumm...Now all we need is to get it over with...

So to the single life I bid thee farewell, it's been a fun ride but things change...I've heard people say that once you get married, you tend to lose touch with your single friends...Well, I hope to God that never happens because there are so many of them and how they have impacted my life...I won't name names and set all this to tears or anything though...

On another note, I went out to dinner with a good friend of mine who is getting married at the end of July...I said to him that in our singles class, he and I were the least likely to get married...Surprise surprise, we are getting married 29 days apart...Until next time (as a married man) Catch you on the flip side and blogger out...

Yes kids, only 29 days until I am a married man...Plans are being finalized and invitations are sent out...Showers and Bachelor Parties are being planned...My party is going to be a day at the golf course...Golf and Beer...MMMMMMMMMM Beer...Anyway, I hear there's a newly engaged couple and may I be the 34th person to say congratulations to Brian Mays and Misti Robinson...The best wishes have been given by others but now is my chance...I admit when I found out about the soon to be wedding, I was shocked...I never thought Mays would even smell the altar because of his busy schedule...However, God has brought him one of the sweetest most caring women in the world in Misti and she will make him happy...We look forward to our big day and now yours as I think we have been unseated as couple of the year 2 years running...D'OH!!! Also, I read on my good friend Scott's blog that he has finally cut the cord with Wendy and met someone...OK, my opinion is good...You need to move on, and meet other people...So maybe you won't date her but it's always good to have a female voice on the phone to talk to or someone to have coffee or cokes with and just chat...Sometimes, the best relationships are built that way...So my .04 cents of advice to you is to take it one day at a time and if a relationship blossoms, then great, if not, then you have a wonderful friendship and sometimes, that's all you need...

Ashlynn Nicole White...It was great news to hear from Jeff when he announced that he was a dad...He was tired but still giddy...Heck, when is he not giddy...LOL...Anyway, I look forward to meeting the little spud tomorrow...Note: I call all kids spud...They grow into big potatoes...

Now I'm watching the American Idol finale...2 hours??? Come on and announce it already...Just say Bo won and git er done...OK so if Carrie wins I won't get upset about it...Oh well, it was probably the best season where any one of 10 of the 12 finalists could have won...Scott and Anthony??? Yeah right...Yeah they sing better then me but if that were the standard, meet the new American Idol, William Hung...Oh well, I've ranted long enough...

OK May 14th is a red letter day here...We are hosting a Pampered Chef Party...Actually, it's a Pampered Chef Bridal Shower...The things you learn...Oh well, it should be fun...Almost two months to go until the big day and still not nervous...At least, I don't think so...Sunday was my return to the volleyball court...My team just had to win one game to win the tournament...D'OH!!! Didn't happen that way...A woman on the other team served 15 or so points in a row...Ugly...The second game, we had them beat but couldn't get the job done...It was still a lot of fun and I met a whole lot of new people...Anyway, I'll let you know about Pampered Chef another day...Until next time, Blogger Out!!!

My friend Scott is moving to Ohio and in a way I'm happy and sad about it...I'm sad because he is a good friend willing to lend an ear or a hand when the need arises...I'm happy because all of the lives he will touch in Dayton...

Scott is a gifted musician...I remember when I first heard him perform...He was doing a rap and although the computer froze on him, he was a pro about it...I first thought and although I never told him, mostly because I just thought about it, he was the first Christian Eminem...I own his Swivel Theorist album and he has come along way in his music...From rap to ballads...Ohio is getting a very gifted musician and a great person...

March Madness

Ah yes, March Madness and all the hoop you can watch...Something about the first round is a little more special...Watching the little guys beat up on the big teams and watching millions of brackets be highlighted due to wrong picks...Like mine...Yes the old 8-9 curse has continued and will always be my downfall...Pacific over Pitt and now Nevada over Texas...Ugh...Good thing I got in the pool that only cost 1 dollar...I wonder if ever in my lifetime a 16 seed will ever beat a 1 seed...That would really shake up the experts and a lot more bracket pools...Friday is the big day around here...OSU tips off at 11:30...I can't wait...Although tempted, I will be good and listen to it at work and not take leave...That is of course subject to change but Sunday expect to see me at the Ford watching the game...I'll be the one in orange...Anyway, another day another 50 cents, after taxes...Catch you on the flip side...

More Ch Ch Ch Changes

Stephanie has some new wheels...We now drive a Nissan Maxima...It's a nice car but as with any investment there comes expenses with repairs...Shouldn't be too bad we can only hope...Anyway, one other thing that needs to be done is a "Car Exorcism"...Reagan will love this part...It was owned by an ou fan and it still has an ou tag in the front...So it will need to go through the Cowboy endocrinating process...

In other news, since I have forgotten my user name on my other blog any wedding planning stories will be put up here...Hate when that happens...IDIOT!!!

Sunday, Rich, who is in my wedding is taking me to the NCAA tourney...I'm so psyched since OSU will be there...It was close to me being bitter while still in orange but now I can Cowboy up with the best of them :) A full report will come soon on that one...

OK, so I'm quoting one of my favorite songs but there is a reason...Stephanie and I are changing our membership to a different church...No, it dosen't mean we're going to lose contact with our friends(That's what e-mail, phones and blogs) are for...It's just we almost go there just to socialize and don't really get "fed"...So, we compromised and wound up where we are...Also, I have also made a life altering decision, which I won't say on here what it is but some of you already know...Anyway, it was an experience, and that's all I have to say about that...Forrest Gump is my ghost writer...Oh, and today for all my hard work at work, I got rewarded by being chosen to submit a drug test...oh joy...Anyhoo, I'll try to post more often as the big day approaches and my feet are still red hot...No cold feet here...Catch you on the flip side

I got my video camera back Sunday and lo and behold I found a secret tape contained within...Recently, some good friends had a scavenger hunt, one of those fun video hunts and I let a very trustworthy friend borrow my camera...So, after watching the video, I had some things to ponder...What is in the Secret Bag??? Why is the Czech in the male??? Finally, what does "And Pause" mean???

Last night a young lady came to the door to sell magazine subscriptions...Sorry, didn't buy any...Anyway, she reminded me of a TV character way back when...If anybody remembers the TV show "Blossom" then you will remember Six...The very fast talking girl who never seemed to breathe when talking...Well either this young lady was the actual Six or related in some way...After she left, I found myself scratching my head and called Stephanie...I just wanted to make sure I wasn't in an alternate universe or something...

Super Bowl Pick

OK so I made my Super Bowl pick in my last blog but here it is again...New England to win the game 31-14...As much as I would love to see Philly win this one I just don't see it...The Patriots are just too good at exploiting the opponents weaknesses and thus my prediction...

The Cubs traded Sammy Sosa to Baltimore, I love Sammy but he had to go...Anyone who leaves the dugout at gametime pretty much seals their fate...Good luck in Baltimore Sammy and the new Cubbies will hopefully flourish...

Oh that fun filled ritual called recruiting is over around here finally...It sure seems like the radio station was paid by ou to cover recruiting, in fact the host in the afternoon had to remind us that it was still a sports station and not an ou love fest...

Finally, I'm hosting a Super Bowl party Sunday...On my big 19 inch screen...Woo Hoo...LOL...Anyway, I know the folks will have a good time and all will go well...It's so fun cleaning, can't you smell the sarcasm here???

Birds in the hand: End of the Bird Saga

Well I know you've been wondering which bird did I get...Well the answer is....To be continued...No, just kidding...The real answer is Andrew has them both...He loves the birds so we figured hey just let him have them and when he gets some things done to a spare bedroom that he has then the birds will have a private room to themselves...Almost a mini bird sanctuary...

OK I must comment on the Steeler loss, I should have known...I let my heart get too much into the game and bought it big time...So now, my heart says the Eagles but I'm going with my head, Patriots to win the Super Bowl...

February 7th is Bedlam revenge, OK so OU won round one and the Pokes were Poking around wondering how to score and play defense at times but it's always darkest before the dawn and if these seniors want the dawn to turn into a full sunny day than they better get off the slump ride and start playing like they can...It all starts in Boulder Sunday...

Walk into Gallagher Iba Arena in Stillwater and you can just smell the fine tradition that is Oklahoma State Athletics...1 empty chair reserved for Mr. Iba and all those banners...But, there is 1 banner that stands out above them all...It is a banner that honors 10 proud members of the Oklahoma State family that lost their lives after a game in Colorado...You can still see the sorrow in people's eyes and still feel the sense of loss even 4 years later...However, like the basketball team that year and all the other years since, we have become stronger and more unified because of it...A nice memorial statue is placed in the lobby of GIA with a kneeling Cowboy paying his respects to the 10...I remember that day well, I watched the game and was not happy about losing to Colorado by 10 and channel surfed and then on came the news of the plane going down...When Jennifer Reynolds heard about Bill Teegins being on the plane she wept and Kelly Ogle had to call Bill's wife and tell her he was indeed on the plane, he wept as well...Alot of tears have been and will always be shed for the 10 but they are also heroes...Doing what they loved to do for a great Athletic program and we should continue to honor their memory...

Battle of the Birds and other ramblings...

It was a long drive to Sasakwa, we got the lovebird and now it's time for Andrew, the future brother in law to decide which bird he wants...Now, there's a kicker, we have been offered another cockatiel, so it's either one lovebird or most likely two cockatiels...Either way, it's going to be a wild kingdom...

Anybody ever watch a movie they know is bad but yet they still watch it...Take, for example my all time most hated movie..."Dune"...It's so dumb but yet when it's on I tend to watch a little of it...Hopefully for only a good laugh or a timekiller...

My Steelers play the Patriots on Sunday and I'll miss most of the first half due to being at church Sunday evening, yes I know I can record it on the VCR and will probably wind up doing that but being the want to know now kind of guy that I am I'll already know what's going on before I get home to watch the fun...

A New Addition

I am getting an addition to my family...No, No, not that...It's a new bird...It's an either or though...I am going to Sasakwa, just outside of Seminole to get a lovebird...If we think it's a psycho-bird as my aunt puts it...Andrew my future brother in law is very interested in getting it meaning I get Diva the Cockatiel...From what my aunt tells me, the lovebird tends to say some off color things so an R rated bird will be a fun challenge but I can fight the fight with valor and courage to unteach him those things...It just made me think, isn't it a coincedence that what little things you say a bird can learn, just imagine what a kid could learn...Whoa, heavy thought there and that hurts my brain...Anyway, that's it for the bird tale and hope it's not too cold driving down to get it but I'm looking forward to getting the bird...

Monday Monday, one of my favorite songs or one of the worst days of the week...I'll decide that one later...Oh well, it was a fun weekend helping a good friend move and seeing my future mother in law at church only 2 days after an out patient heart procedure...My, how far medicine has come since leeches...Stephanie and I have started a class about dealing with marraige intimacy...It's kind of a how to prevent a stupid argument from blowing up into possible declarations of war and use of weapons of mass destruction...

Now that College Football season is over I can now focus on the NFL Playoffs and College Basketball...My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and although they have homefield advantage, I am still leery of them making it...I've seen them lose it one too many times to be gloating about how good they are...If they do make it to the Super Bowl I will be King Steeler at my Super Bowl Party...The terrible towel is ready to fly to victory but as I said, I can't go to nuts just yet...Let's beat the Jets first...

As I go remember this...Winning's a habit not only a dream...Go out and get them Steelers...

Here I am in the world of blogs, better known as my personal thoughts...It's been a very up and down time for this Cowboy fan, the debacle that was the Alamo Bowl and the coaching situation but I just sat and watched Eddie and the boys defeat Texas Tech in Lubbock...Well anyway, that's the sports report now I'd just like to say I hope I can be just as insightful on these blogs like my friends that have them are...Tales of ice and Orange Bowl woes although I was most joyful of the result of that one...Hehehe...Anyway, here is the first real topic of my blog...

In just over 5 months, I'll be married...A very scary but very good thought...I was so opposed to the thought of being married and yet July 1st, I take the plunge into matrimony...Cool...As the days go by I'll share my thoughts on planning and the day of, who knows, I may sneak a thought in there...
